I have been searching far and wide for such a tome as this to enhance my parties nautical adventure experience. I am thrilled to report that its contents are incredibly well organized, informative, and highly enjoyable for developing in depth adventures on the high seas. I highly recommend this brilliant resource!

I live the rules, ships, and just about everything. Only thing I don’t care for is the CGI art. Leans too uncanny valley for me

I’m still digging into it with my group of players, as we all need to be on board to make it work (excuse the pun) but I like the idea someone had of add ones with additional flavour and materials building on the theme for added value 😉

A lot of very crunchy rules that if I ever need, I can dig into. Overall its been pretty easy to read and understand a majority of the things this book presents, though the giant walls of text are a little intimidating. The organization of the chapters is alright, not spectacular and not terrible. I can navigate it pretty well though luckily.

The book overall is very fun. I think the two complaints I have are the many typos, and the resolution of the ship maps. I’d have liked some way to get a battlemap of just the ships, but maybe I’d try to extract from the PDF in the future.

Thanks for this! I’ve been looking exactly for this for my Savage Seas of the Sword Coast campaign. The rules are perfect and the naval combat seems manageable: enough crunch without getting mired in the details.
Just one thing: the sample ships of the line you provided do not seem to have any gold piece prices associated with them. I was trying to correlate the ships with the existing ships in the PHB and other sources, and while you do mention the ships in your book are more expensive, is there an actual price list for them that I’ve missed?

Dear mr. Goblin. My review as requested: Yes, the book(pdf) is exactly as I expected. It has a nice feel with new, yet easy to use, pointers and rules. Great new races to use for both character and NPC purposes. And many of the ships are very “manowar” which in inself was a great game so having 5e rules and maps for them and the ability to use them for epic seabattles brings back happy memories. All in all I am very satisfied and would therefor like to dub thee…. George the Goblin. And give you a sock as a present 😉.

Had exactly the kind of ideas and inspiration I was looking for! Great price, too.
